Free Creative Productions, LLC is a company focused on producing art that reconciles people to God.
Our story began in 2009 when the name and concept came to founder, Fann Sanders, to start a production company that produced work that would infuse faith themes and dope storytelling. Although the full picture had not been realized, she knew that Free Creative would be the place in media where freedom and creativity crossed. In fact, that is the tagline that came with the company name.
“Free Creative Productions; where freedom and creativity cross.”
Because Fann knew very little about video production, only being lightly introduced to it the year prior, the idea sat dormant for several years. In 2015 the idea came to create an episodic series for which a trailer was produced. The success of producing this trailer sparked a confidence that ignited momentum for the production company. Frequently collaborating with other creatives and production companies allowed Fann to grow as a producer which led to her making Free Creative official, registering it as an LLC in 2016. That same year she returned to school to pursue a degree in digital video production. By the time Fann graduated in 2018, she produced a documentary (film program), two short films, and 2 trailers under Free Creative Productions.
Beyond producing film and video work, the heart of Free Creative is to help other Christian artists navigate the intersection of freedom and creativity. There is purpose in creativity. That purpose is realized in the Christian artist whose priority is deepening their relationship with God and pursuing His purpose, above their creative goals. In wanting to create a space for conversations around faith and creativity to happen and encourage Christian artists to create God-glorifying art, the Lord spoke to Fann saying, “It is counter-productive to deal with the art without first dealing with the artist.”
Out of this revelation it became apparent that Free Creative is here to meet the soul care needs of creatives by supporting the Christian artist in building and maintaining their faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. At Free Creative, we believe that God will give Christian artists the ability to produce art in the demonstration of His power but only when they are free (in Him). It is only when we’re truly free that we can function in that authority and dominate in the lane we are designed for.
As a company, our desire for the film and media industry is for it to be permeated with people who are marked by freedom in Christ and creativity, and that we create according to God’s purpose.
